Ninja Foodi frozen turkey breast is the best recipe when you are running out of time and need to bring turkey on the table in an hour. Very easy to prepare and turkey comes out very juicy and moist. Thanksgiving and Christmas ready!
I just bought this 2.75 lb frozen turkey breast and tried to cook it in Pressure cooker from frozen. You need to run it under the cold water for 10 seconds though. It will help to get that plastic bag of. Or you can leave turke on the counter for 5 minutes, it will help loosen the package.
How to make Ninja Foodi frozen turkey breast
Start with taking the plastic bag off your turkey breast. If you have a netting around it, you can keep it on. My turkey breast came already seasoned so i only added a little bit of dried herbs mixed with minced garlic on top.
Prepare Ninja Foodi air fryer basket or you can use a steamer instead if you want. Place turkey inside skin side up (you will need it for later). Fill Ninja Foodi inner pot with 1 cup of water and place your basket with turkey inside. Water should not touch the turkey but if it does its ok. Make sure to take the gravy packet out. We will cook it later.
Secure the lid and close the valve. Pressure cooking time depend on the size of your turkey. Since mine was 2.75 lb, i cooked it for only 55 minutes plus 3 minutes natural release. Than quick release the pressure.
Check the bird, it should be 165 degrees for safety. Sometimes i am ok with 160 degrees since its more juicy and not raw anymore.
If for some reason your Ninja Foodi turkey breast is not done, add another 5 minutes pressure time. Be very careful not to overcook it. Lets say if the turkey is at 150 or 155 degrees internal temperature, i would just set the timer for 0-1 minutes on High Pressure. The time that will take for pressure to build in pressure cooker will be enough to finish cooking breast and reach that 165 temperature.
Once fully cooked, change Ninja Foodi lids and broil the bird for 5-7 minutes. You don't want to overcook the meat, you just want the meat to get more brown and festive (and crispy!). Check turkey every once in a while to see if the skin is crispy enough for your liking. It easy to burn the skin too so keep an eye on it.
Pull turkey out and let it sit on the cutting board for 5 minutes before slicing.
Can i make it in Instant pot
Yes you can. Follow directions exactly except for the crisping part. Instant pot doesn't have the Tendercrisp lid and if you need to brown the turkey skin you will need to use the broiler in the oven.
Expert tips
- If you feel like adding vegetables to the pot, you can. Add chopped celery, carrots and onion. After pressure cooking they will get so soft, you will need to blend them and add to the gravy. Otherwise those vegetables will need to be tossed because they will be very mushy.
- Turkey breast usually comes with a packet of gravy. Use that if you want or make your own by collecting dripping and adding a slurry. Slurry is a mix of a cold water and corn starch in equal proportions.
- Use seasoning you would normally use when cooking turkey. If you have fresh herbs its even better.

How to cook bigger turkey breast
The general rule for cooking frozen turkey breast is to add 5 minutes of cooking time to each pound. So my turkey breast was 2.75 which is almost 3 lb and i cooked it for 55 minutes,
3 lb turkey will be done in 60 minutes
4 lb in 65 minutes
5 lb in 70, and so on.
Serving suggestion
Oh my! Serve your Ninja foodi frozen turkey breast with mashed potatoes of course. It is such a classic combination and everyone loves it. Add a tablespoon of cranberry sauce and some green beans! I have links to all of these recipes made in Ninja Foodi, in the end of this post. If you are not making this dish for Thanksgiving, just simply add rice and broccoli. White rice will soak all that delicious gravy and the meal will be weekend worthy.
Leftovers
Keep leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days, either covered in foil or stored in an airtight container. I like to enjoy it cold but you can totally reheat turkey in microwave or air fry. Don't overcook while reheating. Place a piece of butter on top of a piece and reheat it this way. Turkey breast will be juicy and like fresh!
You can freeze leftover turkey breast. Just put it in the freezer safe plastic bag or container and keep in the freezer for a few months. To thaw keep it in the fridge overnight and than reheat with butter in the microwave or in the oven.
