Recipe ingredients
- Beef chuck roast: A cut of beef from the shoulder region that becomes tender when slow-cooked, commonly used for pot roast.
- Onion: Used to add flavor and aroma to dishes when diced.
- Garlic: Segments of a garlic bulb that infuse dishes with a mild spicy and aromatic flavor when finely cut.
- Pepperoncini: Mild, tangy peppers often found in salads or Italian dishes.
- Pepperoncini juice: The briny liquid that pepperoncini are stored in, adding tanginess to dishes.
- Au Jus powdered mix: A dry mix used to create a flavorful broth or gravy typically served with meats.
- Ranch seasoning mix: A dry blend of herbs and spices that imparts a tangy, herbaceous flavor commonly associated with ranch dressing.
- Unsalted butter: A creamy dairy product made from churning cream that adds richness and helps in browning; being unsalted allows for better control over the dish's salt content.
How to make Ninja Foodi Possible Cooker Mississippi pot roast
Start with the preparation of ingredients. The beef chuck roast is your primary protein, ideal for slow cooking due to its natural tenderness over extended periods. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic cloves.
Place your beef chuck roast at the bottom of your slow cooker. Spread the chopped onion and garlic over the roast and then arrange the pepperoncini peppers on top. Sprinkle the entire contents of both the Au Jus powdered mix and the Ranch seasoning mix evenly over the other ingredients in the slow cooker.
Drizzle the pepperoncini juice over the mixture, and to finish, place chunks or slices of unsalted butter on top. As the roast cooks, the butter will melt and combine with the other ingredients, creating a rich sauce.
Secure the lid on your Ninja Foodi Possible Cooker Pro. Set it to "HIGH" if you aim for the roast to be done in about 4 hours. For a longer cooking time that may yield a more tender result, set it to "LOW" and cook for approximately 8 hours.
Would you like to save this?
After cooking, carefully open the lid, being cautious of any escaping steam. The roast should be tender enough to easily be pulled apart with a fork. Using two forks, shred the beef inside the slow cooker, allowing the meat to mix with the juices and seasonings.
To serve, ladle your Ninja Foodi Possible Cooker Pro Mississippi pot roast over a base like fluffy white rice, creamy mashed potatoes, or al dente noodles. Don't forget to scoop up some of the rich sauce to drizzle over the top. Your comforting and flavorful Mississippi Pot Roast is now ready to be enjoyed.
Variations and substitutions
- Pork: A pork shoulder or pork loin can also be used in place of the beef chuck roast.
- Bell Peppers: If you're not a fan of the spiciness from pepperoncini, bell peppers can be added for a milder flavor.
- Mushrooms: Sliced fresh mushrooms can be added to bring an earthy flavor to the dish.
- Homemade Seasoning: Instead of the Au Jus and Ranch packets, you can use a combination of beef bouillon powder, dried parsley, dried dill, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Fresh Herbs: Fresh rosemary, thyme, or oregano can be added for more depth in flavor.
- Olive Oil: For a lighter touch, you can use olive oil instead of butter. This will still provide the necessary fats to meld the flavors but with a slightly different profile.
- Bread: Instead of rice, potatoes, or noodles, you can serve the pot roast in between two slices of crusty bread for a hearty sandwich.
How to store leftovers
Cover the Ninja Foodi Possible cooker pot with the lid (same size lid from your other pots will work). Keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the same pot using SAUTE button.

I have made the recipe twice now and it doesn't make a tender roast. I make the same recipe in a traditional crockpot and it's perfect every time. The only difference is the amount of open space around the roast and the Ninja is the crockpot. Idk what I am doing wrong but I'm ready to return this Ninja and keep searching for a crockpot replacement. Please help. I want to love this appliance.
