Ninja Speedi ham includes a delightful combination of pineapple and brown sugar for the most perfectly savory, sweet, and delicious ham dish! The meat is melt-in-your-mouth tender and flavorful, and tastes like it's been cooking all day... But this easy recipe for baked ham in the Ninja Speedi takes only about 30 minutes to make from start to finish.

    sliced ham in ninja speedi

Don't get me wrong, I of course love roasted turkey and chicken... But a sweet, irresistibly meaty and fork-tender baked ham is one of my favorite holiday main dishes. It doesn't matter what season it is and what we're celebrating, this Ninja Speedi ham is a must-have on the menu! Pair well with Ninja Speedi turkey breast and Ninja Speedi green beans.

Easy to make with 4 simple ingredients, you won't believe how uncomplicated this recipe really is. Just whip together a flavorful glaze mixture in the tray, add a bone-in or boneless smoked ham, set it and "forget it!" The pork is ready to serve in less then 30 minutes, but because the meat practically melts and is so flavorful, guests will think it cooked low and slow for hours.

classic sliced smoked ham in the plastic package

Caramelized slices of ham with a pineapple glaze are delicious to serve with whatever sides you like. From Pacific Island and Southern comfort foods to traditional holiday classics, and everything in between, anything tastes good paired with this succulent Speedi ham!

    Recipe ingredients

Chicken broth. The Ninja Speedi uses steam to cook food and requires a bit of water to create the steam. Using chicken broth instead of plain water infuses the meat with even more savory flavor.

Pineapple juice. Use the pure juice from the can, not a bottle of pineapple juice beverage. You can also drain and use the juice from cans of pineapple rings or chunks, and then serve the cooked ham with the pineapple!

Brown sugar. The cooked sugar creates a beautiful golden brown caramelization on the outside of the ham.

Ham. A small-to-medium-sized ham that weights 2-3 pounds will feed approximately 6-8 people. But keep the smoked ham under 9x9x5 inches to fit in the Speedi.

    What to serve with ham

Ham and pineapple is a popular savory-and-sweet combination used in Hawaiian cooking. Serve this glazed ham with more Hawaiian-style dishes like fluffy white rice, macaroni salad, and grilled pineapple.

The paring has also been a much-loved mainland staple for many decades now! Enjoy this Ninja Speedi pineapple ham with retro sides like potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, Ninja Foodi baked sweet potato, corn pudding, or, really, any other Southern foods. The balance of sweet, salty, and savory flavors of this ham goes well with just about every comfort food side dish you love!

a piece of ham in broth

For the holidays you can't go wrong with mashed or scalloped potatoes, roasted veggies, mac and cheese, and cozy dishes like green bean or sweet potato casseroles. I'm sure this main dish will fit in splendidly with all of your fave celebratory sides.

    Frequently asked questions

Is Ninja Foodi and Ninja Speedi the same thing?

They are very similar but no, these two appliance are not the same thing. The Foodi has the ability to air fry and pressure cook. The Speedi is not a pressure cooker, and it is a bit smaller and more compact.

Do you add glaze to the ham after cooking?

This easy Ninja Speedi ham recipe basically makes and glazes the meat for you! The combination of broth, pineapple juice, and brown sugar are the foundation of a traditional baked ham glaze... But in the Speedi we only need to add those ingredients to the tray, and the appliance creates and coats the ham in a glaze as it cooks. So there's no need to make a separate mixture!

    Is spiral ham pre-cooked?

Yes, both boneless and bone-in ham are precooked, usually smoked.

Can you cook frozen ham in the Ninja Speedi?

Yes, you can! If you don't have time to thaw the ham simply place it frozen on the drip tray. Add 5-10 minutes to the recommended cooking time for a total of 15-20 minutes.
