Almond flour or almond meal is a perfect substitute for low carb or keto meatballs. The difference between them is that almond meal is made from almonds with the skin on, while almond flour is made from almonds without the skin. I used an almond flour to make meatballs but either will work.

In this recipe i used ground turkey. You can make it half turkey half chicken, or even add pork or ground beef to it. You will need about a pound. Add your favorite spices, dont forget salt and pepper to taste. Add almond flour and an big fresh egg (it will help meatballs stay together and dont fall apart).
If you ever made meatballs before, you know how easy it is to cook them. Just add a splash of oil in to the pan, form meatballs and put them into the skillet. Cook over medium heat on each side until browned and then just cover the pan with a lid, turn the heat down and let it cook for a few minutes.

Air fryers are made to cook meatballs in it. Its super easy, including clean up. Just use the recipe provided in the recipe card, then form little meatballs and place in one layer into your air fryer. Turn it on to 390 degrees and cook for about 10-12 minutes. Shake the basket a couple times during cooking. Make sure that meatballs are no longer pink and they are ready to eat.

Oh, there is so many different delicious ways to eat those little meatballs with! I like to serve them with riced cauliflower, or on top of the salad, or in the keto casserole, or on a sandwich. Meatballs with zucchini noodle is our go to dish too!

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoon almond flour
- Ā½ teaspoon salt
- Ā½ teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients in the medium size bowl. From little meatballs and set aside
- Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place meatballs on it in one layer fry on each side for about 1-2 minutes. Then cover with the lid, lower the heat and let it cook through for another 3-5 minutes.
- Serve with your favorite veggie or in the sandwich
