Try this delicious tender beef heart stew made in your slow cooker! This recipe is low carb, keto, paleo and so easy to make. Add your favorite veggie side dish and call it a meal.
Eating beef heart is nothing weird or me, i grew up eating all kinds of beef parts. The heart is so good in stews, soups and i am looking forward to try it meatballs (grounding beef at home is the way to go)
How does beef heart taste like
Since beef heart is just another muscle, it doesn’t taste weird like liver for example. It could be gamey and chewy if not cooked properly, that’s why i like to cook it in my crock pot. It takes about 5-6 hours on high to reach that melting in your mouth consistency.
Is beef heart keto?
Yes it is. Just like other parts of the cow. Keep it keto when cooking though, don’t add potatoes or carrots, stick to onions and garlic…and cauliflower of course. If you like zucchini you can add some about 1 hour before the beef heart is done. Just slice them and add to the broth. In an our they will be soft but not mushy.
If you enjoy eating organ meats, you will definitely like my Keto chicken liver recipe. It so tender and delicious, melts in your mouth. I am going to make a few more recipes including beef liver and beef kidneys so stay tuned!
