This Ninja Foodi grill steak recipe makes it easy to cook tender cuts of meat to juicy and melt-in-your-mouth perfection in only 10 minutes. Without a doubt these practically foolproof steps will be your favorite quick and convenient method for grilling the best restaurant-quality steaks right at home, with barely any effort!

    steaks in ninja foodi grill

Who doesn't love a well cooked steak? No one in this house! Next time you are craving red meat skip the steakhouse and instead use my no-fail Ninja Foodi grill steak recipe to cook the most tender and delicious New York strips (or whatever cuts of beef you like) in your very own kitchen.

This recipe includes a simple combination of spices and a bit of oil, but is easy to customize with whatever steak seasoning you want. Even without marinating the meat still gets that delicious beefy flavor and tenderness you expect from quality restaurants.

Quickly season the meat and grill for just 10 minutes. Before you know it you're ready to serve perfect medium rare steaks with classic sides like potatoes or other starches, veggies, and/or a fresh salad - and steak sauce for dipping, too!

    Recipe ingredients

Steak. We are using New York strip. But this Ninja Foodi grill recipe works well for other cuts of meat as well! It's perfect to grill top sirloin, flat iron, porterhouse, and even ribeye steaks in a matter of minutes. Just note that the total cook time might need to be adjusted depending on the thickness of the meat.

Spices. Keep things simple to really let the flavor of the beef shine. A few pinches of classic spices like salt, cracked black pepper, and garlic powder are delicious! But feel free to season the steaks with other ready-to-use steak seasoning blends you like.

Avocado oil. This oil is rich but with a mild flavor. It's a high-heat oil (meaning it has a high smoke point) that makes it great for cooking on a Ninja Foodi grill. You can also use canola or vegetable oil, but I do not recommend using olive oil at such a high heat.

    Frequently asked questions

Is a New York strip tender on the grill?

Yes, strip steaks are terrific to grill! They tend to have a nice marbling of fat throughout the meat. This makes the steak extra juicy when cooked quickly at high heat, as the fat essentially melts into the meat.

Should you oil steak before grilling?

Yes, you should add oil to the meat before placing on the grill. This keeps the steak from sticking to the grates. It also makes the outside of the steak beautifully browned with a light crispness.

How often should I flip steak on the grill?

You should only need to flip the steak once on the Ninja Foodi grill. But if you notice the meat isn't quite to the temperature you want, you can flip it once or twice more while increasing the cook time.

Keep a close eye on it: You want the steak to be evenly grilled on both sides without overcooking.

What temperature steak is medium rare?

A perfect grilled steak will have an internal temperature of 130 - 135 degrees with a warm, pink center. You can add a minute or two to each side of the steak if you prefer meat that is more in the medium to medium-well range of 140 - 150 degrees.

How do I know when my steak is done?

The outside of the steak will be brown and slightly crusty, and it should still have a bit of softness when you give the meat a poke with your finger. But I suggest using a meat thermometer to accurately check the doneness.

How do I slice a steak?

Rest the steaks for about 10 minutes after grilling to allow the juices to resorb into the meat. Then use a sharp steak knife to cut against the grain. This helps to break down the protein fibers (the "grains" like wood) and makes the beef extra tender.

    Leftovers and reheating

Place steak leftovers in the plastic or glass container and keep in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat either on the grill or in the air fryer. You can also reheat it in the microwave but watch very closely to not overheat it.
