This is the best Ninja Creami banana ice cream. It is a simple dessert made with a ripe banana, brown sugar, and half and half. It is creamy, light, and filled with a sweet banana flavor.
I enjoy using my Ninja Creami ice cream machine to make all kinds of healthier ice cream flavors. It's easy, simple and unlike the traditional ice cream process which requires cooking an egg custard over the stove, this Ninja Creami ice cream base is made in a blender and then frozen for 24 hours.
It takes minimal effort to create a cool and refreshing treat made with better-for-you ingredients. My other favorite Ninja Creami creation is this Ninja creami chocolate ice cream! So good and creamy!
Banana ice cream is such a fun and kid-friendly flavor, but it can oftentimes taste artificial or be very overpowering. This homemade version has a flavorful but light banana flavor coming from a ripe banana and not from any extracts or flavorings. It is very creamy and has a delicious flavor!
You can serve this Ninja Creami banana ice cream by itself or topped with chocolate chips, crushed cookies, or a drizzle of peanut butter. It makes a wonderful sweet after-school snack or a fun treat to enjoy during the warmer months.
Recipe ingredients
Medium banana. 1 ripe banana with lots of brown spots so that your ice cream will have a sweeter and stronger banana flavor.
Brown sugar. Gives the ice cream a rich caramel flavor.
Half and Half. Used to get the perfect creamy ice cream consistency without being too heavy.
Vanilla extract (Optional). Helps to enhance the banana flavor.
How to make Ninja Creami banana ice cream
Peel ripe banana and put in the blender cup. Add brown sugar, Half and half or heavy cream and vanilla extract if using. Close the lid and blend until smooth. You can also use an immersion blender.
Pour the banana ice cream mixture into the prepared Ninja Creami pint until MAX line. It should be just enough mixture. Now top the pint with the lid and place in the freezer on a leveled surface for about 24 hours.
When its time, place the pint with frozen mixture in to Ninja Creami ice cream maker and push the ice cream button. Once done, most likely you will need to re-spin it. If so respin and enjoy!
Substitutions
Ripe banana. If your bananas aren't ripe you could add Ā¼ -Ā½ teaspoon of banana extract or vanilla extract to increase the banana flavor.
Would you like to save this?
Half and half. Use equal parts milk and light cream, or Ā¾ cup milk and Ā¼ cup heavy cream. You could also use your favorite flavored coffee creamer. Pick a flavor that goes well with bananas.
Brown sugar. White sugar, cane sugar, honey, or maple syrup can be used instead.
Variations
To make dairy-free Ninja Creami Banana Ice Cream: Use vegan half-and-half or coconut cream.

Add 1 - 2 tablespoons of smooth peanut butter to the ice cream base then blend with the other ingredients for a nutty flavor.
Use the MIX-IN button to add chocolate chips, chopped nuts, caramel sauce, or even slices of banana.

Leftovers
You can double the recipe and pour the mixture in to two pint size containers. Use one in 24 hours and keep another one for later use. If you have any Ninja Creami banana ice cream leftovers, just smooth the ice cream on top as much as possible, place the lid on the jar and place it in the freezer.
Before enjoying it again, just let sit on the counter for 3-5 minutes to thaw for a bit. You can re-spin it if you feel like it needs it. I always re-spin for a better, creamier texture!
