This quick and easy Ninja Speedi turkey breast recipe includes steps to make fluffy mashed potatoes, all cooked at the same time in one convenient appliance! It's perfect for a casual Thanksgiving dinner or even just as a cozy weeknight meal that's ready to serve in only 30 minutes.
Whether you are hosting a smaller Thanksgiving dinner or just enjoying a night at home with family and friends, this Ninja Speedi turkey breast recipe makes a perfectly cooked bird with barely any effort! Also try my Ninja Speedi green beans recipe! So good!
Here we coat the skin-on breasts (or skinless, if you prefer) with oil and a simple but bold spice rub seasoning blend. The combination of oil, dried herbs and spices makes the turkey meat super moist and flavorful. It also gets the turkey skin nice and crispy with only a few minutes of air frying after the bird is done cooking.
But that's not all ... In addition to cooking juicy and tasty turkey breasts in 20 minutes or less, you can actually steam potatoes in the Ninja Speedi as well. Then once they're done, easily mash the fork-tender potatoes right in the Speedi cooking basket. There is no need to switch around baskets or resetting the cooking functions. Simply set the Ninja once, and let it take it from there!
Recipe ingredients
Turkey breast. Boneless, with your choice of skin-on or off. (Note that you will need to split the breast in half so that it fits in the Ninja Speedi basket.) Pat the meat dry with a clean towel before seasoning.
Potatoes. Yellow potatoes, AKA Yukon Golds, are the best for mashing in my opinion. But feel free to use russet or red potatoes, if you prefer. Either way you'll want to peel the them before halving.
Olive oil. To get the turkey skin beautifully crispy and golden. You can also use another quality oil with a high smoke point, like avocado or canola oil.
Garlic powder and onion powder. These two spices have pleasantly strong earthy and savory flavors.
Paprika. A smoky and lightly sweet spice that kicks up the savoriness of the garlic and onion powders.
Dried thyme and rosemary. These dried herbs add a cozy, earthy and delicious taste to any dish!
Would you like to save this?
Salt and pepper. Both are basic pantry staple spices that elevate the flavors of all ingredients. You need just a touch of each!
What to serve with turkey breast
This Ninja Speedi turkey breast recipe includes fluffy mashed potatoes for an easy side dish. But feel free to leave them out and cook mashed potatoes on the stovetop, roast them in the oven, or use another method to prepare the potatoes however you like!
Make it a full meat-and-veggies meal by adding some more vegetables to the mix! Turkey and potatoes are perfect to match with sauteed, roasted, or steamed green beans, peas, Brussels sprouts, or zucchini.
And a fresh green salad on the table is always a good idea!
Frequently asked questions
While these two appliances have very similar functions, there are a couple of key differences...
Namely, the Ninja Speedi is slightly smaller than the Foodi. But it is still large enough to easily roast a turkey breast! And cooking-wise, the Foodi has the ability to pressure cook whereas the Speedi can "only" air fry, steam, and slow cook.
Yes, it is MUCH faster to cook just a turkey breast versus an entire bird. The Ninja Speedi cooks a 3 pound turkey breast in 20 minutes or less, while a full 12-15 pound turkey typically requires at least 3 hours.
Sure you can! Prepare the frozen breast the same; however, you might need to purchase two smaller breasts instead of one large breast that needs to be split in half. Cook per the recipe card below, adding 5-10 more minutes to the suggested time for thawed turkey.
Store turkey leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days. Reheat in the microwave or in the oven until heated through. Do not overheat!
